Whether you are new to your career as a trial attorney or an experienced courtroom litigator, this course will offer a unique view into jury trials and how to handle them, from opening statements through closing arguments. Faculty will also dissect the ethical issues that often arise and how to handle these situations. JAMS neutral Hon. Jeffrey K. Oing (Ret.) will be among the speakers on the panel discussion, “Choosing the Best Possible Jury” at 9:15 AM.

This session will help participants to:

  • Select the best jury for their client and case
  • Compose and deliver a persuasive opening statement
  • Structure an effective direct examination
  • Conduct a killer cross-examination
  • Argue, persuade, and win with your closing argument
  • Effectively tackle the sometimes thorny ethical issues common in jury trials
