A New Home for JAMS in Downtown Los Angeles
Los Angeles has long been central to JAMS’ presence and growth. For more than 30 years, this market has been home to an extraordinary legal community and a deep bench of neutrals whose work has helped shape who we are as an organization. We see Los Angeles as not only a cornerstone of our history, but a critical part of our future.
That perspective framed our recent open house celebrating the new JAMS Los Angeles Resolution Center. This was not a renovation or a refresh of an existing office—it was a move into an entirely new space, intentionally selected and designed to support the next chapter of our work in this market.
Honoring Our History, Investing in What’s Next
JAMS first established a presence in Los Angeles in 1994, during a period of expansion into major U.S. markets. Over the ensuing decades, the Los Angeles Resolution Center has grown into one of our most active and influential locations, supporting complex matters and serving as a hub for innovation in dispute resolution.
The open house brought together longtime clients, neutrals and colleagues, as well as many who were visiting a JAMS Resolution Center for the first time. As JAMS CEO and President Kim Taylor shared that evening, the gathering was “a moment to honor our history in Los Angeles and to look toward the future we’re building together.” That balance—respect for legacy paired with thoughtful progress—guided every decision behind this move.
A Space Designed for Today’s ADR Work
This new location reflects how dispute resolution is practiced today. The space features flexible hearing rooms, upgraded technology to support in-person and hybrid proceedings, and infrastructure designed to accommodate complex, high-stakes matters. Just as important, the environment was designed to feel welcoming, focused and professional—qualities our clients and neutrals rely on when navigating challenging disputes.
The move also aligns with JAMS’ recent brand evolution. The refreshed visual identity seen throughout the space is not about change for its own sake. As Kim noted in her remarks, it reflects what JAMS is today: a forward-thinking organization grounded in neutrality, integrity, innovation and trust. Those values continue to guide our decisions—operationally and strategically—across every region we serve.
Los Angeles as a Global ADR Hub
Los Angeles plays a unique role within JAMS’ broader footprint. In 2019, the opening of a JAMS International Arbitration Center further positioned Los Angeles as a hub for cross-border, technology, entertainment and commercial disputes. The city’s global reach and economic diversity mirror the evolving needs of clients seeking sophisticated alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services.
Kim described this moment for JAMS as “cresting the mountain”—a point where experience, perspective and opportunity converge. From an operational standpoint, we see that vantage point clearly. Technology is reshaping how proceedings are conducted, and client expectations continue to evolve. This new space was designed with that reality in mind.
The People Behind the Place
While the open house highlighted a beautiful new home for JAMS in Downtown Los Angeles, the evening was ultimately about the people who make the work possible. Our associates, case managers and neutrals bring care, experience and professionalism to every matter they support. Their dedication is the reason clients continue to place their trust in JAMS.
This new Resolution Center represents more than a change of address. It reflects an ongoing commitment to the Los Angeles market, to the ADR community and to creating spaces that support meaningful resolution—today and well into the future.
