Background and Education

Larry H. Kunin joins JAMS as seasoned alternative dispute resolution (ADR) professional following his successful litigation practice at Atlanta-based Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP. For over two decades, Mr. Kunin has been resolving complex business and technology-related disputes in areas such as software development and implementation, trade secrets, confidentiality, noncompetes, software licensing, intellectual property, construction, contracts, privacy, data breach, e-discovery, mergers and acquisitions post-closing and company/share valuation.

Mr. Kunin's ADR experience is deeply rooted in his extensive litigation background, having represented a diverse clientele ranging from large publicly traded technology companies to startups to individuals. His unique combination of legal acumen and technical knowledge, gained from his early career as a computer programmer and analyst for the Miami Herald, allows him to effectively take on court-appointed neutral or mediator/arbitrator roles in disputes involving business law issues, technology and software licensing, and intellectual property rights. As a neutral, Mr. Kunin strives not only to understand the facts of a dispute, but also to draw on direct experience to identify relevant issues and have parties explain how they would respond to certain factual and legal issues should their matter not be resolved.

Beyond his professional practice, Mr. Kunin has been actively involved in the legal community, notably serving as president of The Florida Bar’s Out-of-State Division, representing approximately 14,000 Florida lawyers residing outside the state. He has also contributed to The Florida Bar's Business Law Executive Council and the Committee on Technology, reflecting his commitment to advancing the legal profession and addressing the evolving challenges at the intersection of law and technology. Mr. Kunin has also been involved in State Bar of Georgia activities, including serving as chair of the Litigation Committee of the Technology Law Section.
