JAMS Launches Miami Resolution Center with Impressive Panel

Miami – JAMS, the largest provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced it has expanded its ADR services and opened a Resolution Center in Miami. The move expands JAMS presence in the Southeast and signifies its commitment to Florida, which is also a gateway to delivering ADR services in Latin and South Americas.

Six neutrals have joined JAMS to launch the Miami Resolution Center. 

Mercedes Armas Bach (Retired Judge 11th Judicial Circuit) joins JAMS after 17 years serving on the Florida Courts in Dade County and 13 years in private law practice. She has extensive experience mediating complex civil disputes and is well regarded for her fairness, diligence and efficiency in handling nearly all matters of civil litigation.

Carol Soret Cope, Esq. is a respected and experienced ADR professional who has practiced full-time since 1995. She combines nearly 10 years of legal practice with her psychology background to help disputing parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement. Ms. Cope is certified as a Circuit Court Mediator by the Supreme Court of Florida and as a Federal Court Mediator by the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida.

Larry R. Leiby, Esq. has served as a mediator, arbitrator, insurance valuation umpire and as a special master for the Circuit Court in Miami-Dade County. He founded and was the first chair of the Construction Law Committee of the Florida Bar Real Property Section. He was one of nine members of the original Florida Bar Construction Law Certification Committee appointed in 2004 and was in the first class of Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyers in 2005. 

Juan Ramirez, Jr. (Retired Chief Judge 3rd District Court of Appeal) is the former Chief Judge of the Third District Court of Appeal and joins JAMS after nearly 25 years serving on both the Florida trial and appellate courts. He presided over jury and non-jury trials involving virtually every type of civil dispute, including complex matters.

Ronald Ravikoff, Esq. has more than 35 years of experience in mediation, arbitration and complex litigation. His practice focuses on parallel civil and criminal proceedings including antitrust and trade regulation, class actions, financial institution litigation, securities litigation and regulatory proceedings, healthcare litigation and trade secrets matters. 

Scott J. Silverman (Retired Judge 11th Judicial Circuit) joins JAMS after 21 years on the bench. Known for his keen intellect, down to earth manner and pragmatic approach to problem solving, Mr. Silverman fosters an atmosphere that is conducive to achieving positive results and he is determined to achieve a successful outcome, regardless of the complexity or the time needed.
