JAMS Panelist Hon. James F. Holderman (Ret.) Honored with Award for Professionalism and Ethics

Chicago – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Hon. James F. Holderman (Ret.) will receive the Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Award for Professionalism and Ethics. The Award will be presented at the American Inns of Court Celebration of Excellence Dinner, hosted by Justice Elena Kagan at the Supreme Court of the United States, on October 24.

The Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Award is bestowed upon a person who has rendered exemplary service in the areas of professionalism and ethics. The award gives the American Inns of Court Foundation an opportunity to recognize individuals who exemplify the Foundation’s vision of the practice of law as a distinguished and noble profession.

“We’re thrilled that Judge Holderman has received this incredible honor,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “This is an amazing recognition of Judge Holderman and all the impressive work he has done throughout his career.”

Former U.S. District Court Judge Holderman joined JAMS after 30 years on the federal bench in Chicago. During his judicial career, Judge Holderman resolved more than 10,000 cases in all areas of federal jurisdiction. He conducted hundreds of successful pretrial mediation conferences and hundreds of trials. He is widely respected for his work ethic, legal knowledge, wealth of experience, especially in intellectual property, class action and complex cases, and the practical way he approaches resolving disputes in the best interests of all concerned.
