Hon. Richard D. Aldrich (Ret.) Joins JAMS in Los Angeles

Former Associate Justice on the California Court of Appeal, Second District, serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and special master

LOS ANGELES – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Richard D. Aldrich (Ret.) to its panel. Justice Aldrich will be based in the JAMS Los Angeles Resolution Center and will serve throughout California as a mediator, arbitrator and special master in a variety of disputes including Business/Commercial, Class Action/Mass Torts, Construction Defect, Employment, Insurance, Intellectual Property, Personal Injury/Torts, Professional Liability and Real Property.

Justice Aldrich joins JAMS following a distinguished 26-year judicial career, most recently serving as an Associate Justice on the California Court of Appeal, Second District. Previously, he served on the Ventura County Superior Court. While on the bench, Justice Aldrich made significant contributions to the advancement of ADR and was instrumental in defining processes for complex case management.

Justice Aldrich is known for his civility, professionalism and independent thinking. His unique and impressive background allows him to work with parties and counsel in all kinds of disputes and identify creative solutions to resolve the matter. We know he will make a great addition to our panel and are thrilled to have him join us.

Justice Aldrich received his B.A. from Loyola Marymount University and his J.D. from UCLA School of Law. He frequently speaks on ADR-related topics and spent nearly 20 years on the faculty of the B.E. Witkin Judicial College of California where he taught “Civil Settlement Techniques.” He has also taught seminars on best practices in handling insurance claims.
