Experienced supervising judge joins JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator, special master, and discovery referee

New Panelist Announcement

PHILADELPHIA – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Patricia McInerney (Ret.) to its panel. Judge McInerney joins JAMS after a distinguished 23-year career on the bench, where she presided over numerous high-profile cases and served as supervising judge of the Commerce Court in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, which is a specialized civil program that handles business-to-business disputes.

Based in the JAMS Philadelphia Resolution Center, Judge McInerney will serve as mediator, arbitrator, special master and discovery referee in a variety of disputes, including business/commercial, class action/mass torts, construction, construction defect, employment, environmental, government/public agency, insurance, intellectual property, personal injury/torts, professional liability, real property and securities.

Judge McInerney has a reputation for navigating complex cases efficiently and with a great deal of integrity. She also has an inherent ability to build trust, which makes her an excellent addition to our panel in Philadelphia.

-Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

Judge McInerney managed an individual docket of cases involving all types of commercial disputes, including shareholder derivative actions, mergers and dissolutions, commercial insurance policies, unfair competition, trade secrets, commercial real estate transactions and non-consumer class actions. Before taking the bench, Judge McInerney worked as a public defender and then as a civil litigator, handling employment, civil rights, premises liability and other general liability disputes.

Over the last 23 years on the bench, I have handled some very high profile cases that gave me the opportunity to develop and cultivate my settlement and negotiation skills. I am excited to bring those skills, along with my passion for serving the Philadelphia community, to JAMS.

-Hon. Patricia McInerney (Ret.), JAMS Mediator, Arbitrator, Special Master, and Discovery Referee

Judge McInerney is currently a member of the National Association of Women Judges and the International Association of Women Judges.
