Miami – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to welcome Richard J. Suarez (Retired Judge, District Court of Appeals) to its panel. Judge Suarez joins JAMS following a distinguished legal career, most recently from Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal, where he served as chief judge from 2015 to 2017. Judge Suarez was appointed to the Court of Appeal in 2005 following his service as a judge on the County Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Miami-Dade County.
Based in the JAMS Miami Resolution Center, Judge Suarez will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a number of practice areas, including business/commercial, class action, construction, employment, insurance and personal injury.
Judge Suarez has a reputation for his pragmatism, sharp legal acumen and ability to analyze the merits of cases effectively. We are honored to have him join us in Miami and look forward to seeing him build on his strengths as a neutral with JAMS.

During his 14 years on the appellate bench, Judge Suarez authored hundreds of published opinions in a wide range of areas, including class actions, construction, insurance, employment, personal injury and matters concerning government entities. Judge Suarez began his legal career as a litigator specializing in civil litigation and appeals in both state and federal courts.
Throughout my career, I’ve taken great pride in guiding parties on a path to resolution. The combination of my experience and expertise has brought me to this next chapter in my career as a JAMS neutral in Miami.

Judge Suarez received his B.A. from the University of Miami and then went on to earn his J.D., cum laude, from University of Miami School of Law.
