Recognized expert in mediation and arbitration joins JAMS as an arbitrator, mediator, and special master

New Panelist Announcement

LONDON – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution services worldwide, is pleased to welcome Tony Cole, FCIArb, to its panel. Mr. Cole is a globally recognized expert in international and domestic arbitration, cross-border commerce and international investment law. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and a member of the New York Bar. He is on the European Parliament’s list of legal experts and was recently asked by its Committee on Legal Affairs to provide guidance on arbitration in the European Union and Switzerland, with a view to new legislation being developed by the Parliament.

Based in both the London and New York Resolution Centers, Mr. Cole will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a number of practice areas, including aviation, banking, business/commercial, construction, education/schools, employment, energy/utility, financial markets, maritime/admiralty, trade and transportation.

Mr. Cole has more than 10 years of experience as an arbitrator and advocate in international and complex commercial arbitrations, and has been invited to speak on arbitration by arbitral institutions around the world. He has served as counsel in international commercial arbitrations at both White & Case and Gentium Law, and has twice been appointed as an appellate arbitrator.

With his ability to approach complicated issues with pragmatism and an open mind, Mr. Cole has an ideal skill set to leverage in his new role as a neutral at JAMS. We’re looking forward to having him apply his wide range of experience and decision-making skills to matters that come to him at JAMS.

-Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

Mr. Cole is on the list or panel of a range of leading arbitral institutions worldwide, including the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC), the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICAC), the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) and the British Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre (BVI IAC).

During the course of my legal career, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the practice of arbitration and how it can be used beneficially in a variety of industries. Becoming a panelist at JAMS is an exciting next step for me, and I’m looking forward to joining the impressive roster of neutrals.

-Tony Cole, FCIArb, JAMS Arbitrator, Mediator, and Special Master
