Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Hon. Risë Jones Pichon (Ret.) has been honored with the President’s Award by the California Judges Association (CJA).

The President’s Award is the CJA’s highest honor and is given to an individual who has selflessly provided time and counsel to aid the CJA’s president to advance the goals of the association. Each year, an individual is selected for his or her exceptional commitment to furthering the association’s mission of promoting judicial excellence and achieving fair, impartial and equal justice for all through education, ethics, inclusivity, outreach and advocacy.

Judge Pichon is highly respected and known for being humble, kind and one to never shy away from a challenge. She is always going above and beyond to help others and support the legal community. We congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition for her commitment to the California Judges Association.

- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

Throughout Judge Pichon’s 35-plus-year career, she has triumphed over adversity, navigating the obstacles of racism and discrimination to excel as a leading judge in California. She served as a superior court judge for Santa Clara County for more than 20 years and was elected in 2015 as the county’s first minority presiding superior court judge.
