Experienced complex commercial litigation lawyer joins JAMS as arbitrator, mediator and special master/referee

New Panelist Announcement

Atlanta – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Shelby R. Grubbs, J.D., FCIArb, to its panel. Prior to joining JAMS, Mr. Grubbs was with the law firm of Miller & Martin PLLC, where he was most recently managing member of its Atlanta office.

Based in the Atlanta Resolution Center, Mr. Grubbs will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master/referee, handling disputes in the areas of business and commercial, mass torts, employment, energy and utilities, insurance, intellectual property, international and cross-border, maritime and admiralty, and personal injury and torts.

Mr. Grubbs has extensive knowledge and experience handling complex commercial litigations and has built a reputation on his ability to find the most effective and efficient means to resolving disputes. With his deep understanding of the law and ADR, we are confident that he’ll make an excellent addition to the JAMS panel in Atlanta.

Mr. Grubbs has more than 40 years of complex commercial litigation experience and served as lead counsel on matters in various disciplines, including business and commercial, consumer protection, copyright, corporate governance, defamation, employment, ERISA, wage and hour, securities, state antitrust, product liability, trademarks, trade secrets, trespass and insurance.

With the experience and knowledge I’ve gained over the years, I’m ready to embark on this journey as a JAMS neutral. I’m looking forward to applying my experience and unique perspective to this exciting new venture.

From 2014 through 2017, Mr. Grubbs was executive director of the Atlanta Center for Arbitration and Mediation at Georgia State University College of Law, where he taught international commercial arbitration. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law and Vanderbilt Law Schools. He was one of the original directors of the Atlanta International Arbitration Society.
