Atlanta – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Bernard Taylor, Sr., Esq., has been honored as a recipient of the Ben F. Johnson Jr. Public Service Award by the Georgia State University College of Law for his professional excellence and philanthropic leadership.

The award is presented each year to a Georgia attorney whose accomplishments embody the college’s tradition of lifelong public service. The award is named after the college’s founding dean, and the winner is selected by a committee of faculty, alumni and other legal professionals.

We are proud to see Bernard being recognized for his ongoing commitment to public service. His influence is seen both within the legal profession, through his efforts to advance diversity and inclusion, and through his domestic and international philanthropic endeavors. Bernard is a genuine leader with a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of others, and we are fortunate to have him as part of our panel.

Mr. Taylor currently serves as the chair of the Southeast Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). He has traveled internationally with the ADL to examine the global impact of hate, bigotry and anti-Semitism. He also works closely with UNICEF to assess living conditions in Africa and the Middle East and find ways to improve the lives of vulnerable children. In 2014, he received the Global Philanthropist Award from the Southeast Regional Board of UNICEF USA. He is a former chair of the DeKalb County chapter of 100 Black Men of America and a chair of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta.

Mr. Taylor recently joined JAMS as an arbitrator and mediator in the Atlanta Resolution Center. He practiced law for almost 40 years and is renowned for his abilities in resolving complex litigation across a variety of matters, including commercial, racial discrimination, mass torts, personal injury and products liability disputes.
