Maurer, LL.M., FCIArb, to its panel. Dr. Maurer joins JAMS with decades of experience resolving cross-border disputes. His knowledge and proficiency in diverse areas of law, particularly in mergers and acquisitions and commercial agreements of international nature, as a neutral, counsel and attorney have earned him widespread recognition in the field of international arbitration and transactions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Maurer has made significant contributions to the development of arbitration law and has been involved in the resolution of complex disputes with global implications. He holds deep appreciation of cultural nuances and understanding of various legal systems—having worked as a neutral or advocate in or with respect to more than 65 countries and 95 jurisdictions. He leverages this insight, multijurisdictional experience and legal know-how to provide fair and effective resolution of disputes.
Based in the New York Resolution Center, Dr. Maurer will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and neutral evaluator, handling business/commercial, mergers and acquisitions, international, insurance, intellectual property, energy and utilities, engineering and construction, and telecommunications disputes. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for attorneys and their clients across the country.

In addition to his esteemed professional achievements, Dr. Maurer has authored several publications on international arbitration, further establishing himself as a thought leader and go-to authority in international and domestic arbitration circles.

Dr. Maurer completed his first state exam in law and received his Dr. iur. from the University of Tübingen. He also received an LL.M. in U.S. and global business law from Suffolk University Law School.
