Mr. Ball joins JAMS following a distinguished 47-year career litigating and resolving disputes. He has represented major corporations, as well as some individual plaintiffs, in matters of every size and complexity.
Mr. Ball was a partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP from 2002 to 2025. He previously practiced at Thompson Coburn LLP from 1978 to 2002. He has served as lead counsel in thousands of cases in state and federal courts across the country and has helped guide clients through mediations of both individual cases and mass torts. In addition, he has been involved in arbitrations—including sports arbitrations—both as an advocate and an arbitrator.
Based in the St. Louis Resolution Center, Mr. Ball will serve as a mediator, arbitrator, court-appointed neutral (special master/referee) and neutral evaluator, handling business and commercial, class action and mass torts, pharmaceutical, product liability, personal injury, maritime and appellate matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

Mr. Ball’s experience as a litigator and trial attorney has helped him bring a practical approach to every mediation, and he has assisted in the resolution of even the most difficult litigations. He has been a Fellow of the American College of Trials Lawyers for almost 30 years and ranked Band 1 by Chambers since 2005. He has also served as an emeritus member of the Product Liability Advisory Council as well as a member of the Defense Research Institute and Lawyers for Civil Justice.

Mr. Ball earned his B.A., cum laude, from Bradley University and his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Missouri School of Law.
