Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, announced that Hon. Jeannie Lowe (Ret.) has received the Crystal Gavel from the San Diego Family Law Bar Association (SDFLBA). The award was presented at the 2025 Norby’s on Nov. 20.
Recipients of the Crystal Gavel are selected for their dedication to the community and their outstanding contributions to family law through education and service.

Commissioner Lowe joined JAMS in 2013 following a decade on the San Diego County Superior Court, where she presided over a full range of family law matters, including complex property division, support and parenting issues. With extensive experience in family law she managed the North County branch’s mandatory settlement conference program and earned a reputation for resolving even the most highly contested cases.
Commissioner Lowe has been widely recognized for her leadership and contributions to the field. She taught newly assigned judicial officers at the Family Law Institute and was honored twice as Judicial Officer of the Year by the San Diego County Family Law Specialists, in 2011 and 2012. She also received the Distinguished Jurist Award from the Southern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2010.
