Louisville – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Steven S. Reed, Esq., has joined JAMS. Mr. Reed joins JAMS following over 20 years in corporate leadership positions in health care.
Most recently, Mr. Reed served as chief legal officer at BrightSpring Health Services, a multinational provider of specialty, pharmacy and senior care to over 350,000 people daily, leading the company’s legal team and its more than 200 subsidiaries. Before becoming CLO, he served on BrightSpring’s board of directors for 11 years, which enriched his approach to conflict resolution by providing a deeper understanding of the complex issues facing all levels of corporate leadership.
Mr. Reed is located in Louisville, KY and will serve as an arbitrator and mediator, handling business and commercial, employment, health care, insurance, and wrongful death and personal injury matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country.
“Mr. Reed is an accomplished attorney and experienced health care leader, so we are pleased to welcome him to our panel of neutrals at JAMS. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a natural ability to foster resolution, and we are confident that his active listening skills and thoughtful, understanding approach will guide clients through even the most intricate disputes.”
Kimberly Taylor, JAMS CEO and president
Earlier in his career, Mr. Reed served as U.S. attorney and assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of Kentucky from 1993 until 2001, where he partnered with federal law enforcement on major investigations. He prosecuted civil fraud matters, including heath care fraud, and False Claims Act cases. He was particularly mindful of crime victims and spearheaded one of the first national conferences on the Violence Against Women Act of 1994.
“My experience in health care and as a federal prosecutor taught me the value of open communication and mutual understanding to help empower each party in case resolution. I am looking forward to using these skills as a neutral at JAMS working with parties across a wide range of practice areas,” said Mr. Reed.
Mr. Reed earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Western Kentucky University and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky.
