Ben Riley Joins JAMS in San Francisco
Distinguished trial lawyer and ADR professional joins as a mediator, arbitrator, neutral evaluator and court-appointed neutral (special master/referee)
SAN FRANCISCO – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Ben Riley has joined its panel. Mr. Riley joins with over four decades of combined trial and ADR experience.
Mr. Riley most recently served as a partner at Bartko Pavia LLP from 2010 until 2026. Throughout his career, he has focused on intellectual property cases, including copyright, patent, technology license, trade secret and trademark disputes; complex business cases, including financial fraud, securities, venture capital, unfair or deceptive advertising and real property/lease disputes; class actions; and high-net-worth trust and estate cases. He has tried more than 30 cases to verdict, with 18 months in trial and cases valued at more than $500 million, including many high-stakes arbitrations.
Based in the San Francisco Resolution Center, Mr. Riley will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, neutral evaluator and court-appointed neutral (special master/referee), handling intellectual property, class action, business and commercial, and estate, probate and trust matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

Mr. Riley has been twice recognized as a California Lawyer of the Year and a Daily Journal Top 100 California Lawyer. He has also been ranked by Chambers for Intellectual Property Litigation: Trademark, Copyright & Trade Secrets and High Net Worth, Private Wealth Disputes. He served as president of the 2,000-member Northern California chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and as a lawyer representative to the Ninth Circuit from the Northern District of California. He is also a fellow of the Trial Lawyer Honorary Society, Litigation Counsel of America.

Mr. Riley earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and his A.B. from Dartmouth College.
