Hon. Daniel J. Kubasiak (Ret.) Joins JAMS in Chicago
Seasoned jurist joins JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator and court-appointed neutral (special master/referee)
CHICAGO – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Hon. Daniel J. Kubasiak (Ret.) has joined its panel. He brings more than 50 years of combined experience in judicial service, private legal practice and government finance and administration.
Judge Kubasiak served on the Circuit Court of Cook County from 2012 until 2026, including more than nine years in the Law Division and eight years on the Commercial Calendar. He presided over a wide range of complex disputes, from initial case management through discovery, dispositive motions, settlement and trial. His judicial work is further distinguished by a strong appellate record, with more than 100 rulings favorably reviewed by Illinois appellate courts.
Based in the Chicago Resolution Center, Judge Kubasiak will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and court-appointed neutral (special master/referee), handling business and commercial, employment, professional liability, real estate and real property, construction, personal injury and intellectual property matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

Prior to joining the bench, Judge Kubasiak spent more than 28 years in private practice representing and advising clients in corporate law, commercial litigation and large-scale commercial and institutional development. His experience includes matters involving corporate governance, business organization and restructuring, finance and capital requirements, employment issues, shareholder and partnership agreements and regulatory compliance. He also brings 11 years of experience in governmental budgeting, finance and administration.

Judge Kubasiak earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, his M.M. from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University and his B.A. from Xavier University.
