Dean J. Zipser, Esq., Joins JAMS in Orange County
Veteran litigator and trial lawyer joins JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator and court-appointed neutral (referee/special master)
IRVINE, Calif. – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Dean J. Zipser, Esq., has joined its panel. Mr. Zipser joins JAMS following more than four decades as a litigator and trial lawyer representing plaintiffs and defendants in complex business disputes across a wide range of industries and practice areas.
Mr. Zipser is a founding partner of Umberg Zipser LLP and has represented companies and individuals in matters involving commercial contracts, business torts, intellectual property, class actions, financial services, real estate and construction, unfair competition and false advertising. His experience spans all stages of litigation, from pretrial proceedings through trial and appeal, and includes extensive involvement in alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Zipser is also widely recognized for his leadership within the Orange County legal community. He is a past president of, among other organizations, the Orange County Bar Association, the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the Orange County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the OCBA Charitable Fund.
Based in the Orange County Resolution Center, Mr. Zipser will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and court-appointed neutral (referee/special master), handling business and commercial, class action, financial services, intellectual property, real estate and construction and unfair competition matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country.

Before co-founding Umberg Zipser, Mr. Zipser was a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP, where he co-chaired the firm's Class Actions and Financial Services Litigation practice groups. Previously, he spent two decades at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he served as managing partner and head of litigation for the firm's Orange County office. Throughout his career, he has represented Fortune 1000 companies, financial institutions, national retailers, real estate developers, technology companies, closely held businesses and individuals in complex commercial disputes.
His contributions to the legal profession have been recognized with the Orange County Bar Association's Franklin G. West Award and the Anti-Defamation League's Jurisprudence Award. He has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in multiple areas, including commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, banking and finance litigation, advertising law, and real estate litigation.

Mr. Zipser earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School and his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
