Hon. Kevin M. Seibert (Ret.) joins JAMS in Sacramento

Distinguished jurist joins as an arbitrator, mediator, court-appointed neutral (special master/referee) and neutral evaluator

Sacramento, Calif. –– JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Hon. Kevin M. Seibert (Ret.) has joined its panel. Judge Seibert joins following a decade on the Tuolumne County Superior Court and more than 30 years in private practice.

Appointed to the bench in 2015, Judge Seibert served on the Tuolumne County Superior Court for 10 years, including as assistant presiding judge and presiding judge. Throughout his judicial tenure, he presided over civil trial calendars, law and motion proceedings and mandatory settlement conferences. During his time overseeing the court’s civil calendars, he successfully resolved the vast majority of the hundreds of matters before him.

Based in the Sacramento Resolution Center, Judge Seibert will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, court-appointed neutral (special master/referee) and neutral evaluator, handling business and commercial, real estate and real property, construction, employment, professional liability, agriculture, banking, personal injury and government matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

“Judge Seibert is widely respected for his diligence, intellect and even-handed approach. His extensive experience as both a seasoned jurist and litigator, combined with his thoughtful and practical approach to dispute resolution, makes him an exceptional addition to the JAMS panel.”

Kimberly Taylor, JAMS CEO and president

Before his appointment to the bench, Judge Seibert primarily focused on commercial and civil litigation. He was a partner at Downey Brand LLP from 2000 to 2015, where he served on the firm’s executive committee and handled complex commercial, real estate, construction and agriculture disputes. He previously practiced at Steinheimer, Riggio, Haydel & Mordaunt from 1985 to 2000, where his work included personal injury and medical malpractice litigation. He was elected an associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2014.

“While on the bench and in private practice, I was deeply committed to demonstrating respect, fairness and preparation in each case. I look forward to continuing that work at JAMS, helping parties resolve even the most complex disputes efficiently and thoughtfully,” said Judge Seibert.

Judge Seibert earned his B.S. from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
