*POSTPONED* Code Red: The Rise of Life Sciences and Healthcare Disputes in a Changing World

Presented by JAMS

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. NEW DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED.

For those attending in person, registration will open at 5:30 pm ET; the program will begin promptly at 6:00 pm ET.

The life sciences continue to dominate headlines, whether through the introduction of new vaccines, therapies, and medications or the increased attention from ordinary citizens, investors, and national governments on public health policies. This has had a profound impact on patient care and the practice of medicine. In the US, Operation Warp Speed engaged the private sector to develop COVID-19 vaccines in record time, whilst in other parts of the world, significant investment is being made to develop the next generation of therapies for endemic conditions such as cancer, malaria, and HIV.

For these reasons, disputes arising from or relating to the life sciences and healthcare are expected to increase rapidly and take on many forms - from bread-and-butter commercial disputes, to breakdowns in supply chains, to conflicts over intellectual property rights, to the use of AI and other disruptive technologies. Professionals in the life sciences and arbitration practitioners alike stand to benefit from understanding the challenges and opportunities that will inherently rise from these disputes.

In this webinar, a panel of experts will discuss the:

    • growth of - and investment in - the life sciences and industry's importance to national and global economies;
    • use of AI and technology to advance research for the next generation of drugs, vaccines, and therapies;
    • diverse issues arising in disputes relating to the life sciences; and
    • increased use of international arbitration and need for arbitrators with healthcare and life sciences expertise
