Charting a Purposeful Path for Women Litigators: Advancing Practice and Leadership in ADR
Friday, February 13 | 11:00 AM–12:00 PM | General CLE
This session examines the substantive and strategic dimensions of arbitration and mediation practice for litigators seeking to expand or transition their work into alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Panelists will discuss key procedural distinctions between litigation, arbitration, and mediation; ethical considerations for neutrals and advocates; and effective advocacy techniques in ADR settings. The program will also address how attorneys can develop ADR practices— whether within firms, boutique settings, or as independent neutrals—while maintaining compliance with professional responsibility standards and best practices for client representation. Emphasis will be placed on skill development, procedural strategy, and the evolving regulatory and ethical frameworks governing ADR. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the legal principles and competencies necessary to succeed in ADR, along with practical insights into building sustainable ADR practices that align with professional goals and leadership aspirations.
