Former Litigation Head of JPMorgan Chase, Mark E. Segall, Esq., Joins JAMS Financial Markets Group

New Panelist Announcement General Announcements

New York – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Mark E. Segall, Esq. to its New York panel and Financial Markets Group. Segall is widely recognized as one of country’s leading experts on the evaluation of litigation risk, settlement strategy and mediation. Segall will be based in the New York Resolution Center where he will handle disputes in a variety of areas including securities, business/commercial, antitrust, employment, insurance and professional liability. In addition, he will become a member of the JAMS Financial Markets Group, a panel of neutrals highly experienced in resolving complex securities and financial markets disputes.

“Mark is one of the best litigation risk and settlement strategy experts in the country,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “His specialized knowledge about the financial services industry will make him an excellent addition to JAMS and our Financial Markets group.”

“During my 20 years at JPMorgan Chase and its predecessor firms, I particularly enjoyed assessing litigation strategy, overseeing settlement negotiations and participating personally as JPMC’s representative at mediations,” said Segall. “I look forward to drawing on that experience to be effective in my new role as a JAMS neutral.”

Segall served as JPMC’s head of Litigation, senior vice president and associate general counsel for the past seven years and developed a thorough understanding of the complex issues involved in resolving financial industry disputes during a time when the actions of financial institutions were the subject of unprecedented public scrutiny. He oversaw the creation of an Early Dispute Resolution program for claims against JPMC and led all litigation worldwide. He has also negotiated with a wide range of institutional litigants including hedge funds, insurance companies, public pension funds, other investment banking firms, patent holders, real estate firms, trustees and creditors’ committees in bankruptcies and Fortune 500 companies.

He graduated with his A.B. and law degree, both magna cum laude, from Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
