Judge Sweeney will be based in the recently opened JAMS Maryland Resolution Center in Greenbelt and also available to hear cases in Washington, D.C. He will specialize as an arbitrator, mediator and special master for disputes in a variety of areas including Business/Commercial, Employment, Family Law, Insurance, Personal Injury and Real Property.
Judge Sweeney served as a trial judge for nearly 20 years handling a variety of civil and criminal matters including complex, multi-party commercial, business and personal injury cases. Since his retirement in 2007, Judge Sweeney has continued to preside as a retired judge approved for recall for temporary service over numerous high profile cases in the Central Maryland area.
