IRVINE, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, announced its participation in the ABA’s 2013 Mediation Week. JAMS will host complimentary CLEs and events throughout the week of October 14. The ABA Mediation Week initiative celebrates the strides made to institutionalize mediation as one of several appropriate dispute resolution processes.
The theme for the 2013 ABA Mediation Week is “Making a World of Difference.” Lawyers and mediators from the court house to the conference room are using alternative means to settle disputes. By using mediation, practitioners can shed light on an important method of resolving personal, commercial, government and community disputes.
“JAMS is proud to support the ABA’s efforts to promote mediation,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We firmly believe in the importance of mediation’s benefits and strive to reinforce its value and effectiveness. This is a great effort from the ABA and we’re happy to be a part of it.”
JAMS is partnering with local bar associations, community organizations and law schools throughout Mediation Week. Events are scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and other locations. A full list of events, speakers and locations can be found on the JAMS website at www.jamsadr.com/mediationweek2013.
