Hon. Risë Jones Pichon, (Ret.) Santa Clara Superior Court Judge, Joins JAMS in Silicon Valley

Former superior court presiding judge will act as arbitrator, mediator and special master

New Panelist Announcement

Silicon Valley – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to welcome Hon. Risë Jones Pichon (Ret.) to its panel in Silicon Valley. Judge Pichon joins JAMS after a distinguished judicial career spanning more than 35 years. Most recently, Judge Pichon was a superior court judge for the County of Santa Clara for more than 20 years and was elected to serve as presiding judge of the Santa Clara County Superior Court in 2015 and 2016.

Based in the Silicon Valley Resolution Center, Judge Pichon will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and special master for a wide array of disputes, including estate/probate/trust matters, personal injury/torts and business/commercial matters.

Judge Pichon’s distinguished career and well-earned reputation for gracefully managing difficult situations will prove invaluable to our Silicon Valley panel. We are glad she is joining the JAMS team and know she will continue to help attorneys and their clients reach resolutions.

As a judge, Judge Pichon oversaw the completion and opening of the Family Justice Center Courthouse in San Jose and implemented a new case manager system in the criminal/felony division.

Judge Pichon is known for her fairness, credibility and consistency, as evidenced by the many honors and awards she has received during her career, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association in 2019 and the Legendary Champions of Justice Award from the California Association of Black Lawyers in 2018. 

Judge Pichon received her B.S. in mathematics from Santa Clara University and went on to earn her J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law.
