Former Massachusetts Superior Court judge will serve as arbitrator and mediator

New Panelist Announcement

Boston – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. Mitchell H. Kaplan (Ret.) to its panel. Prior to joining JAMS, Judge Kaplan presided in the Business Litigation Section in the Massachusetts Superior Court for eight years.

Based in the Boston Resolution Center, Judge Kaplan will serve as an arbitrator and mediator, handling disputes in business and commercial, securities, construction, insurance, employment and real property.

Judge Kaplan has built a reputation on his thoughtful and fair approach to resolving a diverse range of disputes. In addition, his ability to manage multi-party matters with skill and ease will serve him well as a panelist with JAMS.

- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

Prior to his appointment, Judge Kaplan practiced at the firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart for 31 years, where he chaired the securities litigation group and handled business, commercial and insurance matters.

I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on so many challenging matters, first as a lawyer and then as a judge. I am looking forward to using my skills and experience in my new role as a JAMS neutral in Boston.

- Hon. Mitchell H. Kaplan (Ret.), JAMS Neutral

Judge Kaplan received his B.A., cum laude, from Colby College and his J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School.
