Houston – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. Nancy Johnson (Ret.) to its panel. Prior to joining JAMS, Judge Johnson served for 30 years as a U.S. magistrate judge and has authored hundreds of opinions on most areas of federal practice, including employment, governmental agencies, insurance, commercial litigation, intellectual property, contracts, torts, civil rights and admiralty.
Based in the Houston Resolution Center, Judge Johnson will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and neutral evaluator, handling disputes in business and commercial, civil rights, cybersecurity and privacy, employment, governmental and public agency, intellectual property, insurance, maritime and admiralty, and accounting and finance.
Judge Johnson is a highly sought-after mediator, known for her straightforward approach and ability to get to the core of a dispute quickly. With her experience and passion for resolving disputes, she is an exceptional addition to the JAMS panel in Houston.
- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO
Prior to taking the bench, Judge Johnson defended the government in employment, tort and regulatory cases, and she pursued statutory enforcement and forfeiture actions brought by various federal agencies. She exclusively prosecuted white-collar and tax offenses for more than four years.
I believe in using effective communication and a thoughtful approach while working with parties to understand every element in a case in order to find a resolution. I’m looking forward to applying my background and experience to this new and exciting role as a neutral at JAMS.
- Hon. Nancy Johnson (Ret.), JAMS Neutral
Judge Johnson received her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati and her J.D from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
