Hon. Thomas J. Rueter (Ret.) Joins JAMS in Philadelphia

Former U.S. magistrate judge joins JAMS as arbitrator, mediator and special master/discovery referee

New Panelist Announcement

Philadelphia – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. Thomas J. Rueter (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Rueter joins JAMS after 26 years of service as a U.S. magistrate judge in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, including four years as chief magistrate judge.

Based in the Philadelphia Resolution Center, Judge Rueter will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master/discovery referee, handling disputes in business and commercial, antitrust, civil rights, class action and mass torts, cybersecurity and privacy, education, employment, franchise, insurance, intellectual property, professional liability and real property.

Throughout his career, Judge Rueter has gained a deep understanding of the law and extensive experience as a mediator as well as a special master/discovery referee. We are extremely pleased to have him join us on our panel in Philadelphia.

During his time on the bench, Judge Rueter conducted more than 4,000 settlement conferences, including those involving business, commercial and class action disputes encompassing personal injury, intellectual property, civil rights, insurance, employment, professional liability and franchise matters.

I believe that careful preparation, a steadfast commitment to understanding the complexities of each case and patience are qualities that have helped me guide parties to resolve disputes. I’m looking forward to this next step in my career as a JAMS neutral in Philadelphia.

Judge Rueter received a B.A. from the University of Scranton and his J.D from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law.
