Jacqueline Hogan Scola (Retired Judge, Eleventh Judicial Circuit) Joins JAMS in Miami

Former circuit court judge joins JAMS as arbitrator and mediator

New Panelist Announcement

Miami – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Jacqueline Hogan Scola (Retired Judge, Eleventh Judicial Circuit) to its panel. Ms. Hogan Scola joins JAMS after serving on the bench for over 17 years, including almost nine years in the civil division, where she was in charge of the Extended Trials Division.

Based in the Miami Resolution Center, Ms. Hogan Scola will serve as an arbitrator and mediator, handling disputes in business and commercial, construction, employment, insurance, personal injury and torts, professional liability, real property and health care.

During her time on the bench, Ms. Hogan Scola handled a range of complex matters involving commercial and contractual disputes; first-party and third-party insurance; construction defects; real estate; employment; mass torts, including asbestos and tobacco; medical malpractice; products liability; professional malpractice; torts/personal injury; and wrongful death incidents.

Throughout her career, Ms. Hogan Scola has built trust with and gained the confidence of those who have come before her. Her passion for resolving disputes, coupled with her varied background and extensive experience, makes her an excellent fit to join the JAMS panel in Miami.

- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

Before her election to the circuit court in 2002, Ms. Hogan Scola served as an assistant United States attorney for the Southern District of Florida in Miami. Prior to that, she was a major crimes prosecutor and trial attorney in the Dade County State Attorney’s Office under former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno. She was the director of training and professional development for both offices during her tenure.

I am detail-oriented and patient, which I believe are foundational in being able to resolve disputes. Understanding all of the elements of a case—big and small—can help to pave the way to helping parties come to an agreement. I’m looking forward to applying my background and knowledge to this new role as a neutral at JAMS.

- Jacqueline Hogan Scola (Retired Judge, Eleventh Judicial Circuit), JAMS Neutral

Ms. Hogan Scola received her B.A. from the University of Florida, M.A. from Florida Atlantic University and J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.
