Cratsley (Ret.) will be honored with the Professor Frank E. A. Sander Award in Dispute Resolution by the Massachusetts Bar Association. The award will be presented on Conflict Resolution Day (October 21) as part of a series of events for Conflict Resolution Week (October 18 to 22).

Created in 2018 to honor the memory and legacy of Harvard Law School professor Frank E. A. Sander, the award acknowledges and celebrates an individual for their prodigious contributions to dispute resolution. Recipients are those who embody Professor Sander’s leadership, innovation and dedication.

We are so proud to see Judge Cratsley recognized with this prestigious award for his decades of service and leading efforts around alternative dispute resolution in Massachusetts. Judge Cratsley’s thoughtfulness, tenacity and strong capability for handling complex disputes shine through in all the cases he handles, and we are fortunate to have him on our panel.

With deep roots in the Massachusetts legal community, Judge Cratsley served on the Massachusetts Superior Court for 24 years, serving as chair of the Superior Court Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution. From 1999 to 2004, he served as chair of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Standing Committee on Dispute Resolution.

Judge Cratsley has been a full-time arbitrator and mediator since joining JAMS in 2011. His practice encompasses a wide variety of matters, including contract, construction, employment and insurance disputes.

Judge Cratsley will receive this award as part of the Conflict Resolution Day virtual program from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. EDT on October 21. You can learn more about the event here.
