Walsh (Ret.) has been selected by the Santa Clara County Trial Lawyers Association (SCCTLA) as a recipient of the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award. He will be honored with the award at the SCCTLA’s annual Judges’ Night.
The event recognizes judges that exemplify the highest standards of judicial excellence. Judge Walsh is known among his peers for his integrity, knowledge of the law and procedure, work ethic and judicial temperament. He has also been a leader in supporting civility and professionalism and is a former president of the Santa Clara County Bar Association.

Before joining JAMS, Judge Walsh served on the Santa Clara County Superior Court for more than 20 years, including a two-year term as the presiding judge, as well as two years on the Sixth District Court of Appeal. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Walsh was the managing partner of McTernan, Stender, Walsh, Weingus & Tondreau.
