The Sage Awards began in 1991 with the goal of changing the conversation about aging well and enhancing the community. The annual ceremony honors older adults who have improved the quality of life in their community and organizations that have made a significant and positive impact on the lives of older adults in Middle Tennessee.

Chancellor Lyle joined JAMS following a 27-year career as a chancery judge in Nashville for the Twentieth Judicial District of Tennessee. She served as a trial judge in significant and complex cases, and was universally regarded as being hardworking, intelligent and objective.
Prior to her time on the bench, Chancellor Lyle worked in private practice as an associate in civil litigation and then as a partner. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards and wide recognition, including the Nashville Business Journal’s Lifetime Achievement Award (2022), American Board of Trial Advocates Tennessee Chapter’s Judicial Excellence Award (2021), Nashville Bar Association’s Law Day Keynote Speaker (2022) and Nashville Bar Association’s Liberty Bell Award (2021).
