Each year, WWL presents awards to leading firms in over 70 jurisdictions that have performed exceptionally well. This year's awards ceremony will be held on November 9, 2023, at The HAC in London, and all proceeds from the ceremony will go toward WWL’s nominated charity, the Swawou School for Girls.

WWL’s firm awards are determined by the number of its members that are featured in the publication, as well as by the number of nominations its lawyers or experts have received during the course of the research. In judging the awards, WWL studies the nominations made by clients and fellow professionals, with its bespoke database weighing each recommendation according to the standing of the nominator. So, a vote from the general counsel of a major corporation or one of the practice area’s leading lights carries greater weight than that of a less-frequently-nominated lawyer.
