Grossman, Esq., was honored with the Excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution Award from the Association of Media and Entertainment Counsel (AMEC) at the Counsel of the Year Awards on Jan. 19.

Presented annually, this award is part of a series that recognizes the role of attorneys in the judicial process, popular culture and entertainment industry. The AMEC was formed in 2005 to support the career development and honor achievements of in-house counsel and business affairs attorneys at major entertainment and media companies. The AMEC membership is comprised of more than 14,000 accomplished men and women working in a variety of executive and legal roles at all major entertainment, media and technology companies.

Mr. Grossman has extensive experience in the entertainment legal space and is revered by clients and peers alike for his affability and creativity, as well as his aptitude for taking on difficult cases. Mr. Grossman joined JAMS in 2010 and focuses on mediating and arbitrating a broad range of complex disputes, with a particular focus on entertainment, employment, intellectual property and business commercial matters. He has presided over more than 1,500 mediations and arbitrations and developed a stellar reputation for fairness.

Mr. Grossman has been devoted to alternative dispute resolution since 2004, following a 25-year legal career as a litigator, labor negotiator and in-house counsel overseeing complex entertainment disputes. He served for 15 years as senior vice president, head of labor and litigation divisions, for Sony Pictures Entertainment from 1989 to 2003. He was previously a partner with Selvin & Weiner from 1985 to 1989, where he represented, among other clients, the Writers Guild of America in significant labor and employment matters.
