Seattle – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Lish Whitson to its panel. Mr. Whitson joins JAMS after a 45-year career as a civil trial lawyer, where he represented both plaintiffs and defendants, including individuals, small businesses, corporations, government entities and unions.
Mr. Whitson litigated cases involving contract disputes, including business dissolution, condominium and commercial construction disputes; employment disputes; consumer class actions; all types of tort cases, including medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, plane crashes, construction accidents and product liability; and insurance disputes regarding general liability coverage as well as medical, disability and commercial coverage. He has also litigated matters involving intellectual property, administrative, antitrust, criminal, defamation, environmental and real property law.
Based in the Seattle Resolution Center, Mr. Whitson will serve as a mediator and arbitrator, handling business and commercial; class action and mass torts; employment; estate, probate and trusts; government and public agency; insurance; intellectual property; personally injury; professional liability; and real property disputes. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for attorneys and their clients across the country.
Mr. Whitson is known for his depth of legal experience as well as with his ability to get to the root of any type of dispute. He’s helped parties reach a resolution, even in the most complex of disputes. We are looking forward to seeing him thrive in this new role on the panel at JAMS.

Mr. Whitson has served as a mediator and arbitrator for more than 30 years. He has also been asked to serve as arbitrator by agreement of litigants and has served as a court-appointed special master and as a pro tem judge.
Throughout my years as a neutral, I have found that active listening is crucial for the parties to feel both heard and understood. I’m excited to apply my decades of knowledge and experience to this new role as a JAMS neutral.
