Atlanta, Georgia – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Terrence Lee Croft, Esq., has received the 2023 Chief Justice Harold G. Clarke Award from The Supreme Court of Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution (GCDR) and the Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Georgia.

The award, which was also given to JAMS neutral R. Wayne Thorpe, Esq. in 2017, honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of ADR in Georgia, was created in 2013 to honor the memory of Chief Justice Harold G. Clarke. During Justice Clarke’s time as chief justice from 1990 to 1994, he led the Georgia Supreme Court and the State Bar of Georgia in creating a system that helped courts manage their heavy dockets and offered litigants productive ways to resolve their legal disputes outside of litigation.

Terrence has been a trailblazer in alternative dispute resolution for nearly four decades in Fulton County and the Atlanta Judicial Circuit. His work and dedication to ADR over his career will have a lasting impact far beyond Georgia. We are thrilled to see him receive this prestigious honor and congratulate him on this award

Mr. Croft has successfully resolved more than 3,500 disputes as a mediator and arbitrator in a wide array of matters, including business, contract, construction, employment, health care, insurance, personal injury, professional liability and probate.

Mr. Croft has been twice selected as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Georgia, selected as a Georgia Super Lawyer every year since 2005, selected as one of the Best Lawyers in America in ADR every year since 2006, selected as Best Lawyers' Atlanta Arbitration "Lawyer of the Year" for 2018 and selected as Best Lawyers' Atlanta Mediation "Lawyer of the Year" for 2022. He was named best (top 2) individual arbitrator/mediator by the Daily Report in 2019.
