Andler (Ret.) was honored with the Children’s Champion Award by Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County. The award was presented on May 17 during a celebratory event and awards ceremony at Pendry Newport Beach.
CASA of Orange County is a privately funded nonprofit organization and member of the National CASA/GAL Association for Children. The National CASA/GAL Association for Children, together with state and local member programs, supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home and have the opportunity to thrive.
The Children’s Champion Award is presented annually to an individual (or individuals) for their unparalleled commitment to improving the lives of children in the Orange County child welfare system. The Children’s Champion reinforces CASA’s mission of providing a meaningful connection for children through their ongoing commitment of time, professional expertise and/or financial support.
Judge Andler understands the many factors that come into play when making decisions that will impact a child’s care and uses that knowledge to shape her ongoing work with CASA of Orange County. Judge Andler is a current member of CASA of Orange County’s Board of Directors. Drawing on her experience as the supervising judge of the Orange County Juvenile Dependency Court, she has the perspective and insight to advocate for the best interests of children and understands what is required to help promote their happiness, safety and well-being.
Judge Andler joined JAMS in 2017 after serving for more than 22 years on the Orange County Superior Court bench, including 10 years on the Complex Civil Litigation Panel and two terms as Presiding Judge of the Appellate Department. In her current role at JAMS, she serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and special master, handling a variety of disputes, including business/commercial, class action/mass torts, entertainment/sports, construction defect, employment, environmental, estate/probate/trust, insurance, health law, personal injury, pharmaceuticals/mass torts and professional liability cases.
