Hon. Rebecca Westerfield (Ret.) Inducted Into University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame honors alumni for lifetime accomplishments and contributions to the betterment of the legal industry and society

Panelist News

San Francisco – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Hon. Rebecca Westerfield (Ret.) will be inducted into the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony for the Class of 2024 was held on May 8 during the Kentucky Bar Association Annual Convention.

The University of Kentucky Law Alumni Association Hall of Fame was established to acknowledge graduates and former faculty for their extraordinary professional success and contributions, profound positive influence on the College of Law and high degree of character and integrity. Inclusion in the Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed by the College of Law. Each year, selected alumni are honored for the contributions they have made in their own particular field of work or to the betterment of humanity.

Judge Westerfield has decades of experience within the legal industry and has served as a circuit court judge, ADR professional and educator. In each role that she assumes, she leads with a balanced perspective and deep understanding of parties’ needs. We congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition by the University of Kentucky Law Alumni Association.

- Chris Poole, JAMS CEO

Judge Westerfield has been a JAMS panelist since 1992 and is widely perceived as a tenacious ADR professional. She has extensive experience across practice areas and is known for being adept at dealing with matters that involve cross-cultural dynamics and high emotional content, such as business dissolutions, complex business and class actions, catastrophic personal injury litigation and family estate matters. Earlier in her career, she served as a judge on the Circuit Court of Jefferson County, Kentucky.

In addition to her work as an ADR professional, Judge Westerfield has also presented at numerous international programs on mediation in Asia, Europe and Latin America; taught as an adjunct professor at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law; and lectured at Stanford University Law School.
