Hon. Daniel Weinstein (Ret.) Honored With the James F. Henry Award by the Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution

Sacramento, Calif. – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to announce that Hon. Daniel Weinstein (Ret.), a founder of JAMS and one of the nation’s most widely recognized mediators of complex civil disputes, has been named the recipient of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR)’s 2025 James F. Henry Award. The award was presented on February 12 at CPR’s 2026 Annual Meeting at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort.

Named after CPR’s founder, former president and CEO, the James F. Henry Award recognizes outstanding achievement by individuals for distinguished, sustained contributions to the field of dispute resolution. Established in 2002, the award has honored recipients for leadership, innovation and sustained commitment in ADR.

Over the course of his career, Judge Weinstein has helped resolve high-stakes, multiparty matters, including securities, class action and mass tort, antitrust, intellectual property, entertainment, environmental, insurance and other sophisticated disputes in the United States and abroad. He previously served on the Municipal Court and the Superior Court of San Francisco, as well as on the California Supreme Court and the First District Court of Appeal.

In addition to his mediation practice, Judge Weinstein is currently the Distinguished Mediator in Residence at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law. Additionally, he directs the Weinstein International Foundation in its endeavors in conflict resolution and training in the Middle East, Ukraine, Rwanda, Zambia, Peru and other countries throughout the world. He also founded the Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship Program, which has trained more than 150 Fellows from over 90 countries, creating a global network dedicated to fostering peace.
