Seasoned trial lawyer joins JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator, court appointed neutral (special master/referee) and neutral evaluator
Austin, Texas – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Jay D. Ellwanger, Esq., has joined its panel. Mr. Ellwanger brings more than 25 years of experience handling complex employment, civil rights, class action, intellectual property, sexual assault and commercial disputes.
Mr. Ellwanger founded Ellwanger Henderson LLLP, where he worked from 2017 to 2026. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in high‑profile and precedent‑setting matters at the trial and appellate levels, including cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit sitting en banc. Earlier in his career, he also served as a founding partner at DiNovo Price Ellwanger LLP.
Based in Austin, Mr. Ellwanger will serve as a mediator, arbitrator, court‑appointed neutral (special master/referee) and neutral evaluator, handling employment, civil rights, class action, intellectual property, business and commercial and sexual assault/misconduct matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Ellwanger has served for more than two decades as an adjunct professor at The University of Texas School of Law. He has been recognized by Texas Super Lawyers and Lawdragon 500 and is a member of several professional legal associations, including the National Employment Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Austin Bar Association.
