Jose M. Rodriguez, Retired Judge, 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, Joins JAMS in Miami

Miami – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to announce that Jose M. Rodriguez, Retired Judge, 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida, has joined its panel. Mr. Rodriguez served in Florida’s judiciary for more than 30 years and is recognized as the longest-serving Cuban-born judge to serve in the 11th Judicial Circuit.
Mr. Rodriguez served as a county judge in the 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida from 1994 to 2000, after which he was appointed as a circuit court judge, holding that position from 2000 to 2025. During his tenure, he took on vital leadership roles, including associate administrative judge of the General Jurisdiction Civil Division and administrative judge of the International Commercial Arbitration Division. Prior to his judicial service, Mr. Rodriguez practiced civil litigation as a solo practitioner in Florida from 1981 to 1994, advocating for clients throughout all stages of litigation, from initiation through trial and appeal. His extensive litigation background continues to inform his pragmatic approach to dispute resolution.
Based in the Miami Resolution Center, Mr. Rodriguez will serve as a mediator, arbitrator, court-appointed neutral (special master/referee) and neutral evaluator, handling business and commercial and construction matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

Mr. Rodriguez has served as an adjunct professor and faculty member at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Florida International University College of Law, the University of Miami School of Law, Anahuac Mayab University School of Law in Mexico and Florida Judicial College. He has held roles on the Florida Supreme Court Mediators Qualifications Committee and the Florida State Supreme Court Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee. He has been recognized with several honors, including the Mario Goderich P.A.V.E.R. Award from the Cuban American Bar Association.

Mr. Rodriguez earned his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his B.S. from Florida International University.
