Matt White Joins JAMS in San Francisco

Accomplished litigator and ADR professional joins JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator and court-appointed neutral (special master/referee)

San Francisco – JAMS, the premier provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce that Matt White, has joined its panel. He brings more than 40 years of experience in civil litigation and ADR.

Mr. White practiced law as the principal of his own firm, Matt White Law PC, and, from 2012 to 2023, was the senior partner at Monty White LLP, managing primarily personal injury litigation. In addition to his personal injury practice, he also has extensive experience in a wider variety of civil matters, including real estate, business and employment disputes. He also worked as an ADR panelist at Resolution Remedies from 2005 to 2026.

Based in the San Francisco Resolution Center, Mr. White will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and court-appointed neutral (special master/referee) handling estate, probate and trust; personal injury; business and commercial; employment; professional liability; and real estate and real property matters. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country and internationally.

“Mr. White is well known for his careful analysis, sound judgment and steady management of complex cases. He brings a strong command of civil procedure and a thoughtful, disciplined presence to his work, with a talent for helping parties stay focused, navigate difficult issues and engage in productive discussions.”

Kimberly Taylor, JAMS CEO and president

In addition to his litigation and ADR work, Mr. White has been deeply engaged in legal education and professional development. He served for more than a decade as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law, teaching mediation and civil procedure. A frequent lecturer and panelist, he has presented on mediation, ethics, settlement strategy and civil litigation.

“Mediators are not magicians. It takes thorough preparation, flexibility, experience-based intuition, attention to detail and a willingness to challenge the parties’ assumptions and positions in order to help them reach a rational, satisfactory and lasting resolution,” said Mr. White. “I look forward to joining the distinguished panel of neutrals at JAMS and beginning this next chapter.”

Mr. White earned his J.D. from the UC Law San Francisco and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
