Irvine – JAMS is proud to announce that JAMS panelist Justice John K. Trotter (Ret.) was selected as a 2011 “Most Influential Attorney” for Alternative Dispute Resolution by the National Law Journal.

This year’s National Law Journal’s “Most Influential Lawyers” list is comprised of 34 attorneys in 10 specific practice areas known for shaping the law, economy, the physical fabric of the United States and the world.

The former California Court of Appeal justice and founding member of JAMS has resolved more than 3,000 cases through alternative dispute resolution and has served as special master in numerous high-profile pharmaceutical, multidistrict and other disputes. He has been a major influence in the development and use of ADR throughout the United States.

“Justice Trotter exemplifies the highest standards of professional excellence, integrity and commitment to justice,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We are so proud that the NLJ recognized him as one of the ‘Most Influential Attorneys,’ an honor he truly deserves.”

Most recently, Justice Trotter was special master in mass tort actions involving Rezulin and arbitrated a large securities case involving CitiGroup Financial Services. He was settlement master in cases involving Zyprexa and Vioxx. Currently he serves as a special master in the multidistrict Toyota sudden-acceleration cases.

He has been frequently named one of the “Top Neutrals” in California by the Daily Journal, listed as one of the “Leading Judges in America” by Lawdragon magazine and recognized as a “Best Lawyer” by Best Lawyers.
