The yearly Jed D. Melnick Symposium of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution will gather high-profile lawyers and scholars in dispute resolution to discuss important and timely topics. Recent topics include “Bioethics, Health Policy, and Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Age of Obamacare” and “Negotiating the Extremes: Impossible Political Dialogues in the 21st Century.”
Since joining JAMS in 2011, Mr. Melnick has been involved in settling many of the securities matters that came out of the Adelphia and Lehman Brothers bankruptcies, numerous subprime matters, Madoff-related matters, Chinese reverse merger cases, a major class action resolution of a sexual assault claim and claims coming out of the bankruptcy of an international law firm. Mr. Melnick is one of the hosts of an annual panel presentation on legal developments and strategies for resolving securities class actions in Bermuda to the Bermuda insurance market.
