TORONTO – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of the Honourable Judith A. Snider to its panel. Justice Snider will be based in the JAMS Toronto Resolution Centre and serve as an arbitrator and mediator in a variety of disputes including Administrative, Business/Commercial, Energy/Utility, Environmental, Government/Public Agency, Intellectual Property and Maritime/Admiralty.
Justice Snider joins JAMS after a decade as a judge on the Federal Court of Canada. As a member of the court, Justice Snider was prolific in intellectual property matters and, in particular, patent litigation. Before becoming a judge, she was general counsel and vice chair of the National Energy Board based in Calgary, Alberta. She was also a partner at Code Hunter in Alberta.
“Justice Snider is passionate about resolving cases and committed to understanding the parties’ issues,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “Her experience on the bench and working with parties to reach resolution makes her a terrific addition to our panel in Canada.”
“During my time as a trial judge, as a member of Canada’s national energy regulator and as a lawyer, I learned how essential ADR is to the legal process,” said Justice Snider. “I look forward to continue doing this important work and joining the talented team in Toronto.”
Justice Snider received her B.Sc. from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario and her LL.B. from University of Calgary, Alberta.
