Experienced arbitrator and mediator joins JAMS as an arbitrator, mediator, and special master

New Panelist Announcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to welcome Andrew D. Ness, Esq., to its panel. Mr. Ness joins JAMS with 40 years of domestic and international experience in resolving complex business disputes, with expertise in construction, engineering, design and energy issues.

Based in the JAMS Washington, D.C., Resolution Center, Mr. Ness will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a number of practice areas, including engineering and construction, energy, government and public contracts, and international.

Mr. Ness is a consummate professional who is known for finding creative and practical solutions to a multitude of problems. We are looking forward to having him bring these qualities, along with his background in construction and engineering, to the JAMS panel.

As an advocate, Mr. Ness represented contractors, engineers and other design professionals, as well as owners and developers, on a sizable range of projects and problems, including numerous megaprojects around the world. He has played a lead role in major domestic and international arbitrations and mediations involving large, highly complex disputes across a wide variety of diverse jurisdictions and arbitral rules.

Mr. Ness also has extensive experience handling federal and state government projects and contracting issues, including manufacturing, production and project delays.

I think of myself as a complex problem solver with a passion for understanding and helping people. Joining the panel at JAMS is something I’m eager to do, and I look forward to applying my skills to successfully help resolve disputes.

Mr. Ness received his B.S. in electrical engineering, with distinction, from Stanford University and then went on to earn his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard University.
