Awards

Irvine, Calif. – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is proud to share that Hon. Franz Miller (Ret.) has been selected by the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) as the OCBA Charitable Fund’s Individual Honoree for 2021. He will be honored during the association’s “Raise Your Glass” event on October 28 at the Newport Beach Country Club.

The OCBA Charitable Fund provides financial resources to local organizations and programs that serve the community and reinforce the fund’s mission to enhance the system of justice and promote equal justice for all. This year, the Charitable Fund awarded grants to 18 law-related organizations and programs to provide critical services for a broad range of clients, including victims of child abuse and domestic violence, low-income county residents and foster youth.

Judge Miller served as president of the OCBA in 1997 and president of OCBA Attorneys Contributing to Society, the predecessor of the OCBA Charitable Fund, in 1998. Over the past two decades, he has remained resolute in his commitment to the Charitable Fund, giving his time and financial support and spreading awareness of fund’s efforts to encourage others to get involved.

Judge Miller is a tremendously passionate and thoughtful panelist who has invested himself over the years in supporting the Orange County legal community and furthering access to justice for all. We value him on our panel, and we congratulate him on this exceptional recognition.

- Chris Poole, JAMS CEO.

Judge Miller joined JAMS in 2019 as a mediator, arbitrator, referee/special master and judge pro tem after 16 years of service on the Orange County Superior Court. He has handled thousands of matters and tried over 500 civil and family law cases.

The wine tasting and charity awards benefit, which will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Newport Beach Country Club, will recognize Judge Miller and other honorees from this year, and bring together the OCBA community to enjoy entertainment, auctions, food and wine.
