Boston – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. Judith Fabricant (Ret.). Judge Fabricant was appointed to the Massachusetts Superior Court in 1996 and served as its chief justice from 2014 until her retirement in 2021.
Based in the Boston Resolution Center, Judge Fabricant will serve as an arbitrator, mediator, special master/referee and neutral evaluator, handling administrative law, business and commercial, civil rights, mass torts, construction, employment, governmental and public agency, health care, intellectual property, personal injury, professional liability and real property disputes. She is available to conduct sessions in person (adhering to reopening guidelines), as well as virtually for attorneys and their clients across the country.
Judge Fabricant has earned a reputation for her straightforward approach, sincerity and unwavering commitment to civility and fairness. We look forward to seeing her draw on her experiences and background to help parties resolve disputes as a JAMS neutral
- Chris Poole, JAMS CEO
During her years on the bench, Judge Fabricant has heard many types of civil and criminal case, presiding over jury and non-jury trials, ruling on motions of almost every type, conducting case settlement conferences and managing the litigation process at various stages. For five years, she presided in the Business Litigation Session, the preferred forum for the resolution of complex business litigation and commercial disputes. As chief justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court, she managed operations for the commonwealth’s trial court of general jurisdiction, with 82 judges and 15 elected clerks.
Throughout my career, I’ve found that my ability to connect with the parties and listen intently helped get to the heart of any matter. I’m so pleased to be joining the panel at JAMS to continue doing the type of work that I’ve been so passionate about over the years.
- Hon. Judith Fabricant (Ret.)
Judge Fabricant received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Yale College and her J.D. from Yale Law School.
