Chicago – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. James E. Snyder (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Snyder joins JAMS in Chicago following 16 years of distinguished service as an associate judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Prior to his recent retirement, Judge Snyder presided over a Law Division commercial litigation calendar, including bench and jury proceedings, in matters involving employment, construction, government and whistleblower claims, qui tam and statutory false claims, professional negligence, contract matters, lending and debt.
Based in the Chicago Resolution Center, Judge Snyder will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master/referee, handling business and commercial, civil rights, class action and mass torts, construction, cybersecurity and privacy, employment, professional liability, personal injury, accounting and finance, cannabis, franchise and distribution, and education disputes. He is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for attorneys and their clients across the country.
Judge Snyder is committed to working with the parties to understand every element of the matter, in even the most complex of cases. We are confident his knowledge and experience will serve him well in his new role as a JAMS neutral.
- Chris Poole, JAMS CEO
Judge Snyder has presided over tort matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice and products liability claims, and served as the supervising judge of the circuit court’s Municipal Jury Trial Section and as supervising judge of the court’s Law Division Mandatory Arbitration Program.
I enjoy working with parties to resolve disputes efficiently, in a way that is satisfactory to all. It’s rewarding to listen well and help provide creative ways to reach a resolution. I am looking forward to joining the panel at JAMS and beginning this new chapter in my career.
- Hon. James E. Snyder (Ret.)
Judge Snyder received his B.A. from Northern Illinois University and his J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law.
